About image
AFYA PRODUCTS is an agro-business involved in farming of sweet potatoes and creating awareness of its healthy benefits in the Maasai community. We work in collaboration with nutritionists advising the community of how to overcome malnutrition problems especially Vitamin A deficiency. This Agro-business company is putting its focus on the growing and production of the sweet potatoes mainly in the maasai land which is a project that is supposed to help these people to boost their health by feeding on the potatoes since they have health benefits and this will help to give the Maasai people a variety of food options to consume other that just milk and blood.

The Maasai will be able to access this information through our facebook page and our friends who are coming from the Maasai land that we are partnering with in this they will be able to tell their families who will share with their community members, we are also going to be able to talk to the different local leaders in the Maasai land who will be able to grant us permission to conduct educative trainings for the Maasai people.
However to do all this will require a lot of funds which as a group we shall be able to raise a little of it and the rest will be from lobbying funds from NGOs like United Nations which is running a number of projects in these areas.

MISSION
Production of orange fleshed sweet potato in about 3 acres of land.
Training the Maasai people around the farm on growing the orange fleshed sweet potato and collaborating with nutritionists to help people include foods rich in Vitamin A in their diets.

VISION
Creating a community with healthy people from toddlers  to elders reducing malnutritional cases.

Traditionally, the Maasai diet consist of raw meat, raw milk, honey and raw blood from cattle and this what the people eat without any fruits or vegetables at all. The Maasai have not consumed anything that is non-livestock product which makes them lack the supply of Vitamins C, A, iron and energy since this can never be fully met by a purely milk diet.
